My Friend

I watch you friend revisit the past
Hoping to make those memories last
Chasing that unforgetable ghost
To heal that wound that hurts the most

Look forward friend to brighter days
Don't wander in you heart's decays
I'm here to listen when you need a friend
Don't ever think you've reached the end

I understand too the pain you feel
However different, my pain's still real
Yes, God's love will see us through
But we sometimes need a friend's love too

  1. These words are very helpful. I'm not sure who they're for, but they do have meaning for me.

  2. I am very glad to hear that Kat! The inspiration for this particular poem doesn't even know that his work was an inspiration, and he probably isn't even feeling that down, but you are the third person that has told me that the words in this particular piece have touched them and I am glad. These words were inspired by someone else, but meant for everyone. And please know that I do understand your pain right now and you have my love as a friend even though we've never met!

  3. Thanks, DK. I feel the same way - a strange kinship with a like-mind.
I've posted a fun little poem today. Let me know what you think.

  4. Maybe being stuck in the past is contrary to faith. It is contrary to material faith, if we chose to distinguish between ideal and material faith. Nice poem, well organized.

I wish you all the best for the year 2009. May the good Lord see to it you further grow and prosper in the love of our Saviour and that you gain a lot of inspiration and motivation in the coming year.
